Description:

Skilled manual and technical work in the operation, maintenance, construction, repair, and testing of the Town's water supply distribution system and sanitary system. The position requires work as part of a field crew and participates in the construction, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer mains, fire hydrants, service lines, meters, pumps, valves, catch basins, and other appurtenances relative to the water distribution system and must possess a valid Massachusetts Hoisting License Class 2B minimum within 6 months of the hire date to qualify for the additional pay, Class 2A preferred. Knowledge, Ability, and Skill, preferred but not required. Will train.

Requirements:

The position requires applicants to obtain the following Water Systems Operators Licenses within five years of the hire date.  The Town of Willimatown provides materials and training to obtain the Water Systems Operators Licenses.  Each license pays an additional $0.20 per hour:

Massachusetts Drinking Water Operators License Grade 2 Distribution

Massachusetts Drinking Water Operators License Grade 1 Treatment

Massachusetts Backflow Tester's License

Massachusetts Cross Connection Surveyor's License

Additional Hoisting License Class 3E and 4G: Employees holding both licenses will be compensated an additional $0.50 per hour.  These licenses can be obtained during employment with the Town of Williamstown. The Town reimburses for the licenses once obtained.
