We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optometry Technician/Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent customer service skills. As an Optometry Technician, you will play a crucial role in guiding patients through their eye exam ensuring that they receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
- Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and chief complaint.

-Check patients in at front desk, verify insurances, collect copayments and answer telephone to schedule appointments.
- Prepare patients for the examination by gathering relevant information and performing necessary tests.
- Administer diagnostic tests as directed by the optometrist, such as visual field testing and retinal imaging.
- Assist with contact lens fittings and provide instruction on proper lens care and insertion/removal techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to input and access patient information.
- Collaborate with the optometrists to ensure efficient workflow and provide support during examinations.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in optometry or related field is a plus.

Qualifications

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSONALITY!

- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role preferred.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
