Mount Greylock Regional School, a highly ranked institution serving grades 7-12, is excited to announce the search for a new Clerical Main Office Paraprofessional to join our dedicated team to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive educational environment, where excellence in learning and community engagement is a priority. We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to assist in the smooth operation of our main office, supporting both staff and students as well as all community members and visitors to the school building.

JOB TITLE: Paraprofessional (Clerical / Main Office at MGRS)

REPORTS TO: Principal

POSITION STATEMENT: The Clerical Main Office Paraprofessional is responsible for providing general office support as well as knowledgeable and professional administrative services to students, staff, and community in a friendly, efficient, and timely manner so that the overall educational objectives of the school district may be achieved. This position is responsible for providing direct support to the Principal and Assistant Principal, in partnership and collaboration with the building’s administrative team, in order to assure smooth and efficient operation of the school at all times.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
Previous work experience in an office setting is preferred.
Previous experience working with children is preferred.
Ability to manage deadlines and multitask.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office, and Google Applications.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Office / Administrative Support:
- Answer and/or direct phone calls.
- Screen, greet, admit and/or direct visitors to the school as appropriate using the building’s communication system and security protocols.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
- Photocopy, laminate, fax and scan material as needed.
- Maintain office equipment by troubleshooting minor issues and/or arranging for service calls as requested or approved by the Principal.
- Assist in tracking and maintaining supplies and placing orders as needed.
- Deliver messages or property from parents/guardians to students as needed (lunches, lunch money, clothing, sports equipment, etc.).
- Set up general office files and maintain information.
- Assist with summer mailing and tracking, recording, and dissemination of completed summer mailing paperwork as it is returned.
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the main office including:
- Coordinating with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Administrative Assistant on mailings, communications or any projects and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Call students out of classrooms for administrators and/or parents/guardians as needed or requested.
- Assist with issuing employment permits when guidance in unavailable.

Data Entry:
- Assist in maintaining student information in PowerSchool and other District systems as needed and directed including daily attendance.
- Manipulate the exporting and/or importing of data from multiple sources, to construct reports, as directed by the school’s administrative team.

Written and Verbal Communication:
- Proofread and review written communications.
- Compose correspondence for newsletter, staff bulletins, agendas, and business letters for the approval of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal.
- Conduct oneself at all times in a manner consistent with the utmost professional demeanor, whether communicating verbally or in writing, to/with staff, students, parents or any member of the community at large.

Purchase Orders / Accounting:
- Prepare, fill and process supply and purchase order requests as needed.
- Ensure supply deliveries match what was ordered and deliver supplies once confirmed to the appropriate classroom or storage area.
- Assist in maintaining supply inventories.
- Research cost comparison for requested supplies and equipment before placing orders.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

The successful applicant should expect to receive an hourly compensation that is commensurate to experience within the range of $18.94 to $25.67 per hour.
