WILLIAMS COLLEGE, Williamstown MA 01267. Applications are invited for a one-year visiting position in Japanese language for 2025-26, with teaching to begin in September 2025 and the possibility of renewal for 2026-2027. Depending on the candidate's qualifications, the appointment will be made at the level of either a visiting lecturer or a visiting assistant professor. The teaching load will consist of two language courses in Fall 2025 and two in Spring 2026. Depending on the staffing needs, the position will also teach a three-week Winter Study sustaining course for Japanese 101 students in January 2026 with additional compensation. This is a full-time appointment. Salary is competitive and comes with full benefits.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements include an M.A. in Japanese language pedagogy, linguistics, literature, or a related field (a Ph.D. or ABD is preferred). Candidates should have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese, strong teaching experience at the college level, and the ability to teach all levels of language courses either independently or collaboratively. Experience in team teaching and teacher training is preferred.
