Description The Department of History at Williams College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Japanese history, to start July 1, 2025. We welcome applications from scholars of any topic in Japanese history, during any time period. The department would particularly welcome candidates able to offer courses in Korean history. We welcome applications from candidates of all background and strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented identities or those whose experiences and perspective will enhance our commitment to academic excellence and innovation to apply.
The teaching load in the department will be two courses per semester, and faculty have considerable autonomy in developing the curriculum in their fields.
