Description: | JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on our fabrication processes, including, but not limited to, CAM/Plasma CNC table, forming, welding, and grinding. The foundation of this role will be developing, implementing, and maintaining optimal, cost-effective processes and documentation, as well as process improvement, process documentation, quality initiatives, and technology acquisition. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
- Lead process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Evaluate equipment and tools for efficiency improvements, monitor OEE
- Design and implement new tooling
- Work with vendors to determine tool/technology specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
- Assist in quality improvement by documenting problems, determining root causes, and implementing preventative measures
- Create and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for documentation of assembly and repair procedures
- Carry out process improvement, problem resolution, and project management in an effective and timely manner
- Create and conduct process training for new and current employees
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Assist with SolidWorks Models/drawings and Bill of Materials
- Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
- Adhere to company policies
- Other duties as assigned
INTERACTION WITH: - Most departments, including but not limited to, Design Engineering, Production, Facilities and Quality
- Equipment vendors
EXPERIENCE: - Strong CNC Plasma, welding, metal forming, and assembly experience
- Capital equipment selection and justification
- Visual Management, Day by Hour charts, kaizen, setting up Kanban replenishment and Cell/Value Stream layout
EXPERIENCE (cont’d): - Overhead cranes and forklifts
- Work as a team with Engineering, Operations, Sales & Marketing and Finance
- SolidWorks and CAD software skills and experience a plus
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Fixture, work holding, tool, and gauge design and manufacture
- DFMEA experience.
- Two (2) years of Manufacturing Engineering required
- Four (4) years of relevant experience preferred
EDUCATION: - College education or Trade school required
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering preferred

- Vision a minimum of 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
- Good hearing
