DDS In Home Support Staff
Job Type: Part Time
Schedule: 25 hours/week
Location: Pittsfield, MA
 

$750 Sign-on Bonus

Position Overview:
Are you looking for rewarding work with individuals with disabilities? UCP, a growing human services agency, works with people with disabilities in their homes and in the community. In this role you will work with contracted UCP members with physical or developmental disabilities in the Pittsfield area. You will help these members live a "Life Without Limits" by assisting or supervising in a variety of daily living activities. For example, you may assist or supervise household chores, menu planning, or grocery shopping. You will explore community integration with them such as seasonal events, hobbies, and interests. You may assist or supervise the participant with ADLs such as eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulating, and transferring. Your work is done in accordance with a therapeutic goal in each member's service plan. This position requires flexible availability on Sundays. On Monday-Thursday you will work afternoons into early evening (5 hour shifts).   You must have a reliable vehicle and a license to transport members.

DDS In Home Support Staff Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance or supervision with essential ADLs such as eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulating, and transferring
  • Assist with activities such as but not limited to meal prep., cleaning, laundry, shopping, and community integration
  • Facilitate and coordinate medical, dental, and mental health appointments with the Supported Living House Manager.
  • Address individuals' needs through goals in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Comply with DDS Provider Manual, state, and federal regulations, including mandated reporting.
  • Record and report changes in members' conditions and respond to their concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and establish healthy boundaries with members and families.
  • Teach positive social skills and advocate for members while respecting their rights.
  • Participate in agency activities, trainings, and maintain professional communication with UCP personnel and the community.

Requirements:

DDS In Home Support Staff Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience working or supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Two+ years’ experience with ASD preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to assist with ADLs
  • Valid driver’s license, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance and willingness to drive members in the local area
  • Ability to work agreed to hours
  • Appropriate communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with members, caregivers, and professionals
  • Acceptable CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check
