Our financial assistance staff are a cohesive team that, together, support and guide over 400 low-income Berkshire County residents each year.  The work aligns with the mission and values of the organization and is an integral part of the larger Hearthway Team.

This position will oversee the RAFT program team ensuring they remain compliant with state guidelines.  Working as a team, the RAFT Lead position will motivate and lead the case managers to meet their productivity benchmarks while operating within the framework of state guidelines.  This role will ensure quality control and procedures are followed, including file reviews and oversight of program efficiencies.

This is a 40-hour position. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The RAFT Compliance Lead reports to the Manager of Housing Resources.

What does a typical workday look like you might ask?

Each day the RAFT Compliance Lead will review caseloads assigned to ensure the program is running at peak capacity.  This includes daily review of the RAFT state portal to oversee productivity numbers and proper application processing.  Mornings begin with review of emails, voicemails, and check-ins with the team.  Part of the week will be dedicated to collecting and reporting program data as needed.   They will work with the E2E state portal (Zendesk) team to fix portal issues.  Throughout each week, the RAFT Compliance Lead will trouble shoot, coach and strategize to help the case managers overcome any challenges encountered while processing applications, either because of applicant circumstances or portal issues.  Some weeks will require the RAFT Compliance Lead to accept and process urgent cases and perform RAFT appeals or reviews.  Most importantly, the RAFT Lead will maintain knowledge of current state guidance and participate in weekly, monthly & quarterly meetings regarding RAFT policy and ensuring these changes are enacted by the RAFT team.  Each day closes with a final check of emails and voice mails. The goal is always to end the day feeling accomplished, knowing that you have made a positive difference.

Requirements:

Required Skills or Abilities

  • Can lead and motivate a team using project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, the homeless and low-income
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication
  • Proficient with technology – ability to navigate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish preferred

 

Education and Experience

  • High school/vocational diploma, GED Equivalent
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
  • Previous team leadership or project management experience

 

Physical Requirements

  • Stationary Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or
  • The team member is required to have close visual acuity to view and work on a desk computer/laptop/iPad.
