The Gabriel Abbott Memorial School located in Florida, MA has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant to support the principal and school office. The ideal candidate would have the ability to work cooperatively with the principal, school staff, parents and students, and requires proficiency of computer technology, general office duties, knowledge of PowerSchool.  Hours are 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., 5 days per week for 180 days, plus 10 days before the start of  the school year and 10 days at the end of the school year.  

Duties and responsibilities:
*Serve as the Administrative Assistant to the principal and school office.
*Serve as primary point of contact though telephone and email

*Monitor entry and exit of building visitors
*Maintain school records and filing systems
*Maintain and operate standard office equipment
*Maintain school data systems, and prepare and maintain state and federal requirements/reports
*Maintain, update, and participate in school emergency and crisis planning
*Type and record meeting minutes
*Support teaching staff with general office duties
*Ability to carry out basic book keeping and/or accounting tasks
*Perform other relevant duties and projects as assigned by the principal

Requirements:

*Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
*One to two years of successful experience in an administrative related field
*Successful CORI/SORI and fingerprint check
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and general computer knowledge
*Experience with Powerschool or other student data software system and DESE State Reporting preferred
*Ability to multi task and be a self-starter
*Ability to provide a safe and welcoming environment for children and families, and a positive work environment for staff
