CLASS 2 HOISTING ENGINEERING LICENSE - Preference: Required
The position of Highway Cemetery Foreman is a multi-task management and working position reporting to the Highway/Cemetery Department Superintendent and with responsibility for supervising operations, tasks, projects and work crews as assigned by the superintendent. Additional responsibilities include oversight of departmental equipment, skilled manual labor and other related work, as required.
Education and Experience
A minimum of a high school education or equivalent and at least 2 years of supervisory experience involving individuals doing similar work.
At least seven years of related experience in Highway/Cemetery construction and maintenance programs or some equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a current Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with an airbrake endorsement and a Hoisting license with a minimum of a 2A & 4A restriction.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill
Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods and techniques of Highway/Cemetery construction and maintenance projects. Skilled in operating all assigned departmental heavy construction and maintenance equipment and in supervising and directing small work crews. Ability to fulfill responsibilities and to carry out instructions with dedication and professionalism and to maintain good public relations. Ability to perform moderately strenuous duties under varying weather conditions.
