Pine Cobble School is seeking a person who loves the magical power of words, wants to share that love with others, and wants to be part of a team of dedicated educators. This person will work closely with students and teachers in every aspect of reading at Pine Cobble - from helping deliver our program and coaching others to do the same, to analyzing data, to showing students what a love of reading unlocks for them in school and in life.

This job is for you if:

*You know the key to helping young readers see reading as a joy, not a chore.

*You relish working with reluctant learners; in fact, they are the highlight of your day.

*You have training in a program like Orton-Gillingham or Wilson and know how to make their techniques your own.

*You excel with out-of-the-box thinkers.

*You thrive teaching both one-on-one and in small groups.

*You connect with learners as young as three years old and as old as fourteen and believe in your heart that age and reading ability often are not a direct correlation.

*You understand that reading support requires not only working directly with students, but also collaborating with teachers and communicating with parents.

*You know a difficult conversation becomes easy with open dialogue, a clear plan, and a whole lot of love.

*You’re a terrific teacher who is positive, upbeat, collaborative, and has that special ability to inspire students to work hard, believe in themselves, and achieve more.

*You’re aspirational, as you set big, lofty goals for yourself and for your students, and you’re always looking for ways to up your own game.

*You’re willing to get in the trenches, because you understand that making progress in reading, or anything in life, takes not only hard work and good habits on the part of a student, it also requires patience, purpose, and day-in/day-out passion on the part of a teacher.

*You believe in community, and you know that a good education requires many partners working together constructively. You’re eager to collaborate and learn from colleagues, and you’re as excited to share ideas with colleagues as you are about working with students.

*You have a proven track record of doing hard things, and as a result you know how to plan exhaustively, collaborate with others, persevere, and stay positive.

*You have a wide range of interests, and you're also eager to jump into other activities, like coaching, running an after-school club, or organizing special events on campus.
If this sounds like you — and if you’re excited by the prospect of spending your days with passionate colleagues in a dazzling natural setting — please submit a cover letter, resume, statement of purpose and references to Sue Wells by June 25, 2021.
