Museum security officer helps to provide a safe environment for museum employees and visitors while safeguarding the art and equipment. 

Responsibilities: A variety of responsibilities along with other duties as needed:

  • Maintain Museum security protocols while walking through the galleries, engaging with staff and visitors
  • Patrol the grounds as needed
  • Monitor the surveillance systems such as the CCTV system
  • Direct traffic and wayfinding for visitors
  • Provide crowd control and security for museum events
  • Assist facilities in pre-event set-up and after event clean-up and removal of equipment
  • Oversee the safety and security of objects 

General Hours: Part time seasonal through October. Weekdays and Saturdays with some evening events as needed.

Qualifications: Comfortable standing/walking for several hours at a time during a shift.  Strong verbal communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service. 

Experience/Education; At least one-year experience in a customer service, custodial and/or security related position. High school diploma or GED preferred.
