Description:
Do like to make an impact? Do you enjoy when work feels like play? Do you want to have a profound impact on the development of children between the ages of 1 and 3 years old? We're looking for a lead teacher in our Toddler room - - is that new teacher you?

The Berkshire Family YMCA is seeking Infant / Toddler teacher for our Pittsfield Branch. The position is a full-time, benefited position that requires 40 hours per week

-Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, but will consider qualified candidates with Associates Degree.


Must be EEC Teacher Qualified, for Infants/toddlers
must be able to work in classroom with young children
must be able to pass EEC Fingerprinting Process

Essential Functions

Create a safe and healthy environment social-emotionally, physically, and mentally for effective youth development in a Child Care setting
Foster healthy relationships between children and staff appropriate to the child’s development and level of understanding
Identify any child issues and behaviors and respond in a positive and effective way.
Plan developmentally appropriate activities based on the creative curriculum using positive guidance techniques
Provide daily and weekly lesson and programs for supporting staff to follow and facilitate
Integrate the Y Character Development materials into all lesson plans.
Provide children with opportunities to develop language and literacy
Know and enforce all rules and safety guidelines associated with Child Care programs
Report all incidents and accidents, and fill out applicable forms and paperwork
Provide daily communication with parents and staff
Attend all staff meetings and in-service training
All other duties assigned by management
Requirements:
