Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of accounting processes, including Accounts Payable, Cash Disbursement, Cash Managment, and other projects as assigned. This position also provides accounting support for the Finance Department during the monthly closing process, the annual audit, special financial analyses as well as preparation of periodic accounting data and analyses to help provide information for various department and management decision making. This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting.This position will also support the human resource function and administrative functions of the organization.
Qualifications
A.S. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
1-3 years in Accounting, including Accounts Payable and Account Reconciliation
Ability to analyze and present information from diverse financial materials
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise in Financial Systems
Detailed oriented with high regard for accuracy and able to work independently
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of employees and work with managers to help them in solving financial issues.
Experience in Not-for-Profit preferred
Essential Functions
The Accounting Coordinator will process and record Accounts Payable transactions that all invoices are entered in the system timely, accurately, and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. They will record revenue into the General Ledger from other systems via journal entry import. They will assist in onboarding and payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis ensuring that all employees are being paid accurately. They will assist with month-end and year-end closing including processing adjusting journal entries, various ad-hoc reports, and other projects as assigned. They will assist with annual audit preparation including preparing audit schedules, as well as, other projects assigned. They will be responsible for assisting directors in administrative tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred or Associate’s degree in accounting or related field plus at least one year of accounting experience (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions.
• Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems and sound working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must be highly organized and have the ability to work with confidential matters.
