Help Yourself/Kids2College Academic Assistant

In partnership with the North Adams Public Schools (NAPS), MCLA will host a group of fourth, fifth, and sixth graders participating in the Help Yourself Foundation / Kids2College Academy. The goal of the program is to infuse passion for learning while promoting thoughts of future college attendance.

The Assistant will support the work of the Academic Lead to implement a hands-on, STEM-focused curriculum with elementary students, and assist students engaging in a project-based, learning environment.

The program will run from Monday, October 18, 2021, to Friday, February 4, 2022. The program is planned to take place using a 100-percent in-person format. The location of the program will be Brayton Elementary School in North Adams, Massachusetts.

This is a grant-funded position and may be renewed annually.

Candidates who enjoy working with elementary school children and those with experience working in afterschool or camp settings are preferred. Individuals with interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, the Arts and Education are preferred.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check.
