Berkshire County Arc is a non-profit human service agency that has been providing community-based services to adults with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries for over 50 yrs. Berkshire County Arc’s mission is to assist and support individuals in their quest to identify and realize their chosen lifestyles. This is accomplished through various programs offered: residential homes including independent apartments, employment services, day programs, adult family care, transitions, advocacy & family support, special needs pooled trusts and a mail-house staffed by people with disabilities that serves dozens of businesses across Western Massachusetts.

Berkshire County Arc’s programs are offered in Berkshire County and Pioneer Valley. We serve nearly 1,000 individuals per year and have over 700 dedicated staff.

In this newly created position, your primary focus will be to work with the VP of HR to ensure that all HR processes run smoothly and are in full compliance. The HR department at Berkshire County Arc has a terrific team of dedicated staff that support each other, the Agency and the people we serve.  Use your excellent HR, people, organizational, management and communication skills to hit the ground running for this fast-paced busy position. 

We are seeking a people person who can handle responsibility, has excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills, a positive, professional demeanor, and deals effectively with people on a daily basis to join our fantastic group of professionals!  When you leave at the end of the day, you’ll know you made a difference!

As a back-up to the VP of HR the Assistant Director of Human Resources assists in the development & implementation of policies and programs relating to all phases of human resources activity.  You will touch every aspect of HR regularly using your experience in all areas of HR including Compliance, Workers Comp, PFML, Recruiting, Benefits Admin., Employee Relations & more to help this amazing department.

Bachelor’s degree preferred with HR experience managing people and programs. SHRM/HRCI certification a big+. Excellent communication, people, and leadership skills needed. Strong computer skills a must. HRIS experience a plus.
