The Williams Libraries seeks an energetic, detail, and customer service oriented person to join our Access Services team. This is a part-time (20 hrs/wk), 9-month appointment reporting to the Head of Access Services. The hours for this position are Sunday 6:30 p.m. - 12 a.m. and Monday - Thursday 8:30 p.m. - 12 a.m..  Hours may vary during final exams; therefore flexibility is essential. This position does not work when classes are not in session (summers and January).

The Late Night and Weekend Assistant is responsible for supervising the Circulation Desk and the students hired to help staff the desk during the late night and weekend hours. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of customer service and helping to maintain and manage the lending of resources for the Sawyer Library. The successful candidate must be detail oriented and possess a strong dedication to customer service. The ability to apply and administer policies with diplomacy is fundamental to this position. The ability to lift, bend, push, stand, and sit are also necessary. 


Qualified candidates should have an Associate’s degree or a minimum of two years of college. Some supervisory or leadership experience is preferred. This position requires excellent attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as are organizational and computer skills. Library experience is not required.
