Williams College Dining is hiring for multiple cook positions!

Working under the supervision of the First and Second Cooks, your primary focus will be assisting with the creation, preparation, and service of the highest quality food through following pre-established recipes and menus. Accuracy in food allergens, food quality, preparation, temperatures, tastes, appearance and garnishing, as well as overall sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas are of high importance in this role.

These positions are permanent, full-time (40 hours/week), year-round, and could include overtime as required. Work schedule may vary to include evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

 There are multiples shifts available, including:

  • Tuesday -- Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm (Located at Whitman’s Dining Hall)
  • Thursday -- Monday 11:45am - 8:15 pm (Located at Whitman’s Dining Hall)
  • Friday -- Monday 6:00am - 2:30 pm, Tuesday 11:45am - 8:15pm (Float to start in Whitman’s subject to movement based upon need)
  • Sunday -- Thursday 11:45am - 8:15pm (Float to start in Whitman’s subject to movement based upon need)

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in a kitchen environment with knowledge of food service preferred
  • Willingness to follow a flexible schedule
  • Experience in a customer service oriented environment
  • Ability to lift boxes and bags (up to 40 lbs) overhead to shelves up to 5 ft and ability to stand and move about the space for prolonged periods
  • Ability to understand and follow recipes
  • Enthusiastic about developing skills in the cooking field
  • Have or obtain ServeSafe and Allergen Awareness training
