The Employment and Training Coordinator is responsible for fostering the growth of vocational skills and finding competitive employment opportunities for individuals referred by MRC. This is accomplished by providing supports through vocational evaluations, skills trainings, initial employment supports, and job development and placement services. This person may also be responsible for providing supports to students in the Pre-ETS program by offering work readiness instruction, career exploration opportunities, self-advocacy training, post-secondary counseling, and work-based learning experiences in the form of an internship. This person must develop and maintain relationships with employers to enhance internship and employment opportunities in the community.
Associate degree with 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities or High school diploma/GED with 4 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities. Must be able to communicate efficiently both orally and written. Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, and licensing and/or certification checks (i.e., nursing). Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.
