Child Care of the Berkshires is a large not-for profit, early care and family support agency, operating a variety of programs throughout Berkshire County, including child care centers, a network of family child care homes, home visiting programs, parent child playgroups, parent education and skill building programs.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Manager

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Family Child Care System is a network of licensed family child care educators that contract annually to provide early education and care to small groups of children in their homes in neighborhoods throughout Berkshire County.

The Program Director is responsible for the planning, directing and coordinating of the Family Child Care System which includes administrative and fiscal responsibilities as well as case management.

The Program Director supervises a small support staff.

The Program Director oversees the recruitment, screening, training and subcontracting of approximately 15 independently-licensed family child care educators. The Program Director maintains conformance to EEC policies and standards and coordinates transportation services for young children.

The deliverance of a high quality child care system made up of independent family child care homes is the primary goal.

SALARY/WORK/YEAR:
The position is 25 hours per week and we are seeking an individual with five-day per week availability. Family Child Care homes are located throughout central and northern Berkshire county.

The salary range is $17 - $20 with pro-rated benefits.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have an A.A. or B.A./B.S. in early childhood education or related field and/or meet the criteria of EEC Director I.

Must have experience balancing multiple priorities, problem-solving, and making decisions.

Must have excellent written and verbal skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.

Must be comfortable using computers, technology and various software programs and platforms.

Must demonstrate a commitment to value diversity and contribute to an equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.

Prior to hiring, candidate will have a criminal record check and motor vehicle record check completed.
