Description:
Elizabeth Freeman Center (EFC) seeks an experienced, full-time Communication and Development Coordinator to work with the Executive Director to write and manage grants, craft and coordinate agency communications, lead agency development efforts, and contribute to big picture strategy. We’re looking for someone with great writing skills, attention to detail, computer fluency, adaptability, and creativity. Experience with non-profits preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Grant writing, grant reporting, grant management
o Research, contribute to, and write competitive grant proposals
o Help ensure program delivery meets funder requirements and aligns with agency philosophy
o Track and communicate funding guidelines and requirements, and provide training and guidance to staff as needed
o Write and submit timely and accurate grant reports
o Assist in administering the agency’s client/reports database system
o Analyze statistical trends internally and externally
• Donor relations
o Create and implement successful strategies to retain, attract, and increase donor support
o Oversee donor recognition efforts, including generating donor thank-you letters
o Maintain accurate and complete records of donor communications
o Help craft fundraising messaging
• Communications and development
o Contribute vision and execution to development fundraising events, PR, communications, and marketing activities
o Write for and coordinate social media communications, e-newsletter, print publications, and web content
o Develop and implement creative strategies for outreach and education
o Establish and expand relationships with community partners, and represent EFC at community events
• Additional projects, big and small
o Assist the Executive Director in identifying and strategically responding to system issues at the organizational, community, state, and national level
o Readily take on miscellaneous projects, creative missions, and other duties as assigned to advance agency mission
o Adhere to strict guidelines and protocols to ensure client confidentiality
Requirements:
Qualifications include:

• Excellent writing skills and computer fluency
• Adaptable, with a ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ enthusiasm for projects of all types and sizes
• Proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented
• Able to work both independently and as a part of a fast-paced team
• Experience in grant writing, data collection, and agency reporting
• Commitment to diversity, social justice, and anti-oppression work
• Commitment to ensuring survivors of domestic and sexual violence receive holistic, accessible, trauma-informed, strength-based victim services and advocacy
• Bachelor or Associate Degree (may be waived for relevant, comparable level of work or life experience)
• Must successfully pass Criminal Record Check-CORI and have valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation

Work Hours:

40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work required.

Compensation and benefits:

$51,000 plus depending on experience; excellent benefits
