North Berkshire School Union #43 is seeking to hire a MA ESE licensed Director of Pupil Services to oversee all areas of the special education department, including individual educational plans and services required and provided to all students in the five member school districts: Clarksburg, Florida, Monroe, Rowe, and Savoy.

This position will be distinguished by requiring experience with and knowledge of budget development, grant writing, and have a working knowledge of the district, county, state and federal regulations related to special education. The position will serve as a member of the NBSU Leadership team, and requires the ability to lead, manage and evaluate, communicate and problem solve, and work with the students and families, as well as local, state, and federal agencies. The ability to work a flexible schedule is a requirement while overseeing services in five independent school districts and collaborating with the faculty and staff in schools with students ranging from pre-kindergarten through grade eight.

QUALIFICATIONS:

      Oversee all areas of the special education department, including Individual Education Plans and services provided to all members' school districts.

           In concert with principals, evaluates all special education staff and service providers.

            Experience and knowledge of budget development.

             Experience with grant writing.

  • Working Knowledge of district, county, state, and federal regulations related to special education.


 Ability to lead, manage, evaluate, communicate and problem solve with students, families, staff, state and local agencies.

            Flexible schedule to work with the five member towns.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters Degree
  • Massachusetts certification as a Special Education Administrator, or eligibility for certification
  • Pass CORI and finger print background check
