 Position Summary
We understand that no one majors in insurance while they are in college, and that limited
knowledge of insurance should not impact your qualifications for our available positions. Guardian

Individual Disability Claims is responsible for fair and proper evaluation of disability claims from the initial claim notification to claim determination and ongoing monthly eligibility. You are Someone that works well in a team as well as independently. You are a decision maker and leader who has strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and both excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage multiple priorities all with a positive attitude.

  • You have A college or university degree or the equivalent work experience
  • An interest in providing quality customer service
  • Demonstrated skills and familiar with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and
    Outlook
  • As an early career Claims Specialist:
    You will Learn various claim handling concepts and high-quality service standards in a collaborative team environment
  • Be responsible for basic fact gathering needed to understand customer claims and the
    impact to policy terms
  • Learn concepts related to medical, legal, occupational, financial, and investigative
    components of claim handling and risk management
  • Support the team with daily phone queue responsibilities for receiving new claim notices and
    answering claim status questions from our claimants
  • Strive to solve complex problems, making quick but thoughtful decisions to resolve client
    issues
  • Reporting Relationships
    As our early career Claims Specialist (Claims Service Specialist), you will report to our Claims
    Manager, who reports to our Head of Disability Claims.
    Location: 
    The primary location for this position is On Campus
  • TRAVEL:
  • Travel Minimal, less than 10% Travel required for this position
