Hillcrest Educational Centers is a private not-for-profit agency that provides a range of individualized and comprehensive clinical, psychological and special education services for children, adolescents and families in Berkshire County, MA and the Northeast. The students served by Hillcrest in nonresidential and residential programs have complex psychiatric, behavioral and/or developmental disorders, including autism, and a variety of high risk behaviors.

|Nursing position available for full and part time. Provides comprehensive nursing care activities for students and serves as a member of their treatment team. RN or LPN required.|
Perform physical assessments, drug testing, and assess needs and safety of the students; report any abnormal findings and provide proper documentation for these assessments within designated timeframe (i.e. complete body check assessments within 24 hours of a restraint).
Conduct therapies in accordance with diagnosis and needs; perform treatment intervention requiring a physician’s order and nurses licensure for administration (i.e. medication administration, medical treatments).
Act as liaison between client, families, staff within department and agency wide, and health care providers by effectively communicating nursing treatment and medical needs to proper individuals (including completion of documentation and data entry); coordinate treatment with other health agencies; schedule necessary appointments.
Be able to affectively form relationships with students and gain their trust; have knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis and conditions requiring nursing observations and creation of individualized treatment plans; ensure proper understanding of students’ needs and reasons for treatment.
Assist the Head Nurse in all duties; fill in during the absence of the Head Nurse; act as a mentor to other staff nurses; conduct regular staff training as required by licensing agency.
