The Position
Café Associate is responsible for servicing the day-to-day café operations, alongside the museum store manager. This role works collaboratively across departments to support the visitor experience and suggest improvements that help create a warm welcome for our audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and close the café daily, including restocking as needed.
- Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items.
- Operate the POS system and process cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- Keep the counter, register, and dining area clean and organized.
- Restock napkins, utensils, cups, and other service items.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow cash-handling procedures and balance the register at the end of the shift.
- Track and report inventory levels to the store manager.
- Work closely with the Visitor Services Coordinator organizing boxed lunches for groups.
