Community Health Programs’ next CFO will join a talented, collaborative executive team fully committed to ensuring that our nonprofit federally qualified health center (FQHC) provides healthcare access and high-quality care to all of our neighbors in the Berkshire region. Your financial leadership, commitment to our mission and appreciation for the unique role of FQHCs in our community will support our patients and our 280+ team members.

Our new CFO will join our senior leadership team and needs to bring the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (Master’s degree or CPA preferred),
  • 10+ years of experience as a finance leader (including at least 5 years in healthcare
    with primary/multispecialty ambulatory care and/or FQHC experience strongly preferred),
  • Deep healthcare knowledge (including budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow management, government and healthcare fiscal regulations, revenue cycle management and payer contracting).

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required. Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, including five (5) years in a healthcare organization as well as experience in fiscal services (grants, contracts, billing and collections, bookkeeping, accounting, reporting). Experience in primary or multispecialty ambulatory care and/or federally-qualified health center strongly preferred.

Required healthcare knowledge:

Financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements

Cash flow forecasting and management

Strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives

Governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements

Electronic health records and practice management systems

Revenue cycle management mechanics and best practices, including payer contracting

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing change within an organization, particularly in response to evolving healthcare regulations, technology advancements, and shifting market conditions. The ability to adapt financial strategies to meet new challenges and opportunities is essential.

A proven track record of driving innovation in financial processes, revenue cycle management, and operational efficiency. The CFO should be forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate trends and develop strategies that support CHP’s long-term goals.

Expertise in financial reporting, data analysis, and the use of advanced financial software and tools. Expert-level Excel skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems are required.

Strong leadership skills with a focus on building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing finance team. The ability to foster a collaborative environment and drive continuous improvement across departments is critical.
