  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
    • The Rehab Support Representative is a member of the Fairview Hospital’s rehabilitation department and functions under the direct supervision of the Office Supervisor. This individual is responsible for, but not limited to supporting the functions of: Scheduling and patient billing, including co-pay collection, Registration, Admitting, Insurance and Referral Management, Medical record management, and statistical collection. This individual will interface with all members of the rehab department. The tasks performed by the rehab support personnel will support the Rehabilitation department’s in-patient and outpatient practice.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • 2 years related medical office experience preferred.
        Scheduling and registration experience preferred.
        Experience working with HMO's, Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
    • Education and Training:
      • High School graduate or equivalent.
        Medical terminology preferred.
        Computer skills required.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • N/A
    • Other Requirements:
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Proven ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other health care providers.
      • Must be willing to flex worked hours to cover for vacations and earned time absences.
      • Ability to work independently and take direction.
      • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
      • Sensitive to diverse cultures and cultural differences.
      • Proven ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple job tasks on a daily basis to meet the needs of the department.
      • Must have ability to operate business office equipment.
