Mostly this is M-F 8:00am-4:30pm shift but need this incumbent to be flexible to work different hours intermittently.  

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION

    • Under the guidance and direction of Medication Safety and Diversion Officer and System Pharmacy Director- Acute Care, the Pharmacy Informatics and Compliance Technician is responsible for supporting and optimizing projects of various Pharmacy Information Systems which include, but are not limited to, Meditech Expanse (acute and ambulatory), Condonics, Omnicell (OC1, CPM, CSM, OCRA, BlueSight), Smart Pump Library, PCA library, IV workflow, syringe pump library, and Philips Clinical Pathway.  The incumbent is required to keep current with Systems and/or Applications used or under consideration, as well as communicating and interacting with other departments of BHS and external vendors. This incumbent must employ excellent communication skills in sharing information with users in the department.  This position will be responsible, with collaboration of Information System Pharmacist Analyst, for on-going maintenance, testing, support and optimization of Pharmacy Systems within BHS.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

    • Experience:

      • Must maintain eligibility and registration as a pharmacy technician or become a registered pharmacy technician within 6 months of appointment. 
    • Education and Training:
      • Associate Degree or higher. Education in computer science or related field is a plus.
      • Experience in the area of Health System Compliance is a plus.
      • Previous experience with any Informatics, software or computer hardware is a plus.
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher.
      • Become proficient in applicable hardware installation and repair after sufficient training
    • License, Certification & Registration:

      • Registered MA pharmacy technician required or obtained within 6 months of appointment.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills.
      • Demonstrate ability and willingness to instruct pharmacy, nursing, and related personnel in all aspects of automated dispensing system operations.
